Date surcharges
Date surcharges let you add an extra charge to orders placed for specific delivery dates. Use them for peak periods like Valentine`s Day, Mother`s Day, or when fuel costs spike. The surcharge appears transparently at checkout so customers see the full cost before completing their order.
What you can do here
- Add a surcharge for a single delivery date
- Add a surcharge for a range of dates in one go
- Choose whether the surcharge replaces or adds to existing delivery costs
- Customise how the surcharge appears in the customer`s cart
- Delete surcharge
Step by step
- Go to Settings > Delivery Options > Date Surcharges.
- Click Add Single Date if you only need one date, or Add Multiple Dates if you want to cover a date range.
- For a single date, select the date. For multiple dates, select the surcharge start date and end date.
- Enter the surcharge amount without the $ symbol.
- Tick the replacement checkbox if you want this surcharge to replace other delivery costs. Leave it unticked to add it on top of existing costs.
- Save your changes.
Tips
- The surcharge is added to the customer`s cart as a product. Click Edit Surcharge Product in the right column to update the product name, de script ion, and image.
- You can adjust or remove individual surcharges at any time from the same settings page.
Ask the assistant
You can also ask the assistant to set up or update surcharges for you. Try something like:
- "Add a $15 surcharge for Valentine`s Day"
- "Add a $10 surcharge for every delivery date between May 1 and May 14"
- "Remove all the surcharges I set up for Mother`s Day"
