Cart abandonment emails
If a customer adds products to their cart but leaves without completing checkout, this feature automatically sends them a follow-up email reminding them to come back and finish their order.
What you can do here
- Turn cart abandonment emails on or off
- Set how long to wait after abandonment before sending (e.g. 1 hour, 24 hours)
- Edit the email content and subject line
- Add an incentive, such as a discount code, to encourage completion
- Turn on the sms notification for card abandonment
Step by step
- Go to Dashboard > Marketing & SEO > Marketing Tools > Cart Abandonment Emails.
- Switch the feature on.
- Choose how long to wait after a customer abandons their cart before the email is sent.
- Write or edit the email content and subject line.
- Add a discount code or other incentive if you would like to offer one.
- Save your changes.
How it works
When a customer adds products to their shopping cart but leaves without completing checkout, the system automatically records the abandoned cart. After the waiting period you specify, an email is sent reminding the customer about the items they left behind and inviting them to return to your website to complete their purchase.
Tips
-
Send the first reminder within a few hours of cart abandonment for the best recovery rate.
- Personalise the email content to match your brand.
- Include a special offer or discount code to encourage customers to complete their purchase.
-
Review your email content regularly to keep promotions and messaging up to date.
Ask the assistant
You can also ask the assistant to help you set up or adjust your cart abandonment emails. Try something like:
- "Turn on cart abandonment emails"
- "Change the wait time for abandoned cart emails to 2 hours"
- "Add a 10% discount code to the abandoned cart email"
