Product Category Purchasing Options
These settings control how customers are able to buy from a category as a whole, separate from the settings on individual products within it.
What you can do here
- Turn online purchasing on or off for a whole category
- Set a minimum lead time before delivery for products in the category
- Add category-level availability restrictions, handy for occasion categories like Valentine`s Day or Mother`s Day
Step by step
- Go to Dashboard > Products > Manage Categories
- Open the category you want to update
- Find its purchasing option settings
- Adjust availability, lead time, or restrictions as needed
- Save your changes
Tips
- This is different from hiding a category from navigation - a category can be visible but restricted from purchase, or hidden but still directly linkable
- Use category-level restrictions for occasion periods instead of updating every product one by one
- Check individual product settings too, since they work alongside category settings rather than replacing them
