Stripe lets you accept credit card payments securely on your website. It`s one of the most popular payment gateways and supports a wide range of cards and currencies.
What you can do here
- Connect your Stripe account to your website using your API keys.
- Set a surcharge percentage to pass card processing fees on to customers.
- Choose your Stripe country and enable extra checkout security if you`re in the EU.
Step by step
- Go to Settings > Payment Options > Stripe in your dashboard.
- Tick Use Stripe to enable it as a payment option.
- Enter your Stripe Secret API Key and Stripe Public API Key, found in your Stripe account dashboard.
- Enter a surcharge percentage if you want to pass on card fees (for example, 2.5).
- Select your Stripe country.
- If you`re in the EU and need Strong Customer Authentication, enable Stripe STCA and add the required webhook in your Stripe account.
- Save your settings.
Tips
- Test with a small order first to confirm payments are processing correctly before relying on it for live sales.
- Keep your Secret API Key private never share it outside your Stripe and website settings.
- You can find your API keys under Developers > API Keys in your Stripe dashboard.
