Web Forms Spam Score Threshold

All Flower Store In a Box websites use Google reCAPTCHA to help detect and block automated spam messages. reCAPTCHA assigns each form submission a spam score between 1 and 10, which indicates how likely it is that the submission came from a human or a bot.

Each website has its own spam score setting, which you can adjust in your dashboard.

Default Setting

When a new website is launched, the default spam score is set to 5. This score allows most genuine visitors to submit forms, but it may also let some automated spam messages through.

If you are receiving a high volume of spam emails from your forms, we recommend increasing your spam score to increase filtering.

How to Update Your Spam Score

  1. Log in to your MyWebLogin Dashboard.
  2. Go to Settings >  Advanced Settings > Advanced Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the Form Security section.
  4. Find the Spam Score dropdown menu.
  5. Choose a value between 1 and 10 (a higher number applies stricter filtering).
  6. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save Details.

Understanding the Spam Score

Score Range Action Recommended Use
0- 2 Allow the form to submit automatically Trust level high likely human
3-6 Add a reCAPTCHA v2 challenge or extra verification Medium trust may be bot activity
7-10 Block the submission Low trust very likely spam

In most cases, setting the score to around 5 effectively blocks the majority of automated spam without impacting real customers.

Considerations

Increasing the spam threshold too much can sometimes stop legitimate enquiries from being sent. Its a balance between blocking unwanted spam and ensuring genuine customer messages still come through.
