Authority to Leave lets a customer tell you it`s fine to leave their delivery unattended if nobody answers the door. Turning this on at checkout protects your drivers and reduces failed delivery attempts.
What you can do here
- Show an "Authority to Leave" checkbox or option at checkout
- Customise the label text and any instructions shown next to it
- Have the customer`s choice printed on the delivery label or order docket so your driver can see it at a glance
Step by step
- Go to Dashboard > Settings > Checkout Setting > Checkout Options.
- Find the Authority to Leave section.
- Turn it on, and edit the label text if you want different wording.
- Save the option now appears at checkout, and the customer`s answer prints on the delivery label.
Tips
- Encourage drivers to always check the label before leaving an order unattended it protects you if there`s ever a dispute about a "missing" delivery.
- Consider disabling this for high-value orders like large arrangements or anything with alcohol.
